Summer NDuro 2

You know, there's a lot to be said for training through races. After a 350km week (plus my fulltime job) I found myself in Rotorua on Sunday for the second NDuro race for summer. Needless to say, I was a little tired, but wouldn't miss it for the world... And with a different course setter, different trails to ride... And a mega epic uphill journey for the first 20kms (thanks Cabin!!!), I was all set to go and especially keen to trial my new Adidas Evil Eye glasses.

My choice of the lighter lenses proved to be a good one, as we were sent to the top of the forest and down a new trail under a pretty thick forest canopy... The trail name started with "Doctor..." and that was all I had a chance to read before nearly running over a victim of the slippery surface (oh, the irony!)

Highlight of the race for me was the Rollercoaster... this trail is an absolute gem and often missed in races (because of the amount of climbing to get to it), but it is totally worth the effort... Smooth, flowing trail at it's best... Delicious.

I must admit that at 10th overall female, and nearly 3 hours, it certainly wasn't one of my finer performances, however, the awesome thing was that on Monday I had sore legs... Sore legs means good training time for the week that was... Next race is Puhoi marathon on the 6th of Feb, then NDuro 3 on the 14th, Bev May Road Tour the week after and then Mountains To Beach Stage race in Australia...

Big month! Bring it on!!!

Welcome to Adidas!

I'm very excited to have Adidas on board as a new sponsor. I was stoked when that little box arrived at the bike shop the other day with my new pair of Evil Eye and Adilibria glasses. Adidas glasses have the best fit of any glasses I have worn. They do a small and large size of the Evil Eye, so the small size fits my midget face really well.

Spoke Issue 34 OUT NOW!!!

Actually, it's been out for a couple of weeks now... If you haven't checked it out already, make sure you grab a copy. There's some awesome articles in there. In particular, I enjoyed the "Ride for Peace" article on the Tour De Timor stage race. Also a good review on "Tino Tabak - Dreams and Demons" book, which I've also just finished reading myself and is well worth the read.

My article this edition is the "Last Roll". Flip straight to the back page to check it out!
